I too just bought an Alpine CD changer (S-630??). I'm having it installed in the trunk. In reading through the archives, I see that installing the CD changer in the glove box is pretty commonly done. I'm wondering, though, isn't the trunk a better place to put it? I would think that it would be quite a bit cooler in the trunk than in the glove box on a hot day when the car is parked in the sun. Does it matter?
I guess having it in the glove box is more convenient, but then where are you going to put your gloves???
A related question: Soundtrack is charging me about 80 bucks for the adapter. Is there a chance that the previous owner of the car had a cd changer, took it out when he sold the car, and left the adapter behind? Is the adapter something that attaches to the CD changer itself, or to the unit in the dash?
