HAVE YOU TRIED TO CLEAR ANY CODES IN THE ECU THAT MAY NOT BE TRIGGERING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN RECONNECT AND GIVE IT A TRY!
