can i change the low-beam bulb on my 2000 v40 myself?

Thin hands and long fingers help. It's a bit fiddly, but not a complicated thing.

Simply pull off the rubber cap from the back of the headlight housing, pull the connector from the back of the bulb, release the clips that hold the bulb in place and remove the bulb.

Installation is the opposite order..

The tricky part is releasing the clip, getting the bulb out and then installing the new bulb and securing the clip again. Take note of the bulb orientation as you take out th old one! It will only fit one way and there is a tab in the base of the bulb that fits in a slot in the headlight.

I can just get my hand between the headlight housing and the washer fluid filler. By using 2 fingers I can carefully lift the bulb out.

When installing a new bulb, make sure you never touch the glass of the bulb! This will kill off the bulb in no-time as the grease from your skin burns into the glass.

Try to avoid any contact between the bulb glass and any of the parts on the car.

Bye, Arno.
