backlighting is out/off for auto shifter V70-XC70 1999

The backlighting for D,R,P, etc. adjacent to the shift knob is no longer lit when my lights are turned on. I can't see'em in the dark when driving and it is annoying. I checked the owner's manual but no help and nothing stated in the fuse listing. Any suggestions?
