Twkenny,
My first thought was you had locked the trunk in Valet mode as instructed in the owners manual. The trunk does not open without a key in this mode. However if you are certain that something is caught in the mechanism, why not fold down the rear seat and enter the trunk from there. If the seat has the safety lock in place, then you will have to reach in through the armrest access and somehow unlock the seat...you should be able to reach. With the seat down and flashlight in hand you should be able to untangle the mechanism...Good Luck!
