I tried both Edmunds and cars.com, which only have the XC90 and SV40 posted so far. I imagine they will have them, they always do, eventually. it does seem rather late.
After the Autoweek piece last week on the E60 indicated that the 380hp twin turbo was still on... http://autoweek.com/
I had wondered how this was going to relate to the rest of the model line. BMW seems to need to market a direct linear relationship between price and performance. So pricing a 380hp 3.0 I6 below a 325 hp 4.4 V8 seemed waaaay out of character for the company. (Volvo seems not to have this problem.)
Well, a German guy posted on the E60 board that he has a friend who works for KKK-Turbo Systems in Germany and....
"He told me, that BMW tested different turbo systems: a 4-Cylinder engine with mono-turbo and about 240 hp for the upcoming 1-serie, and also a 6-cylinder twinturbo system for 5-series/6-series But: BMW stopped all this projects. Reasons: the BMW history (always non-turbos), pollution and petrol consumption, non-harmonic power output etc."
For what this story is worth. The information is suspect because it's posted on the internet, after all. There were, as a matter of fact, turbo versions of the 2002, the early 7-series and the BMW diesels are turbos, all of which I'd think the guy from KKK should know about. But again, I'm unconvinced thet BMW would ever price a higher hp model below a lower hp model in the same model line.
Between that, the iDrive and the styling.......
Thanks for the info about the xenons. 2004 now, huh? What model?
