Sorry about your bad luck.

Make sure you report the accident to the police, they may have a report of a spree of accidents, a similar accident, or a crime nearby. You never know what may come of your report. It's worth the effort.

Keep records of your expenses, you should be able to claim the loss on your income taxes.
