I hope you get a response that is helpful, I really want to add a switch too.
It seems to me to be a poor design to leave off a switch for controlling the lock. Also, how does one lock the doors before exiting the car without turning on the alarm? My procedure is to open the drivers door, then lean over and lock the passengers door before getting out. I wish that I could just open the drivers door and push down the lock and lock all the doors! I guess it won't do that for fear you might lock your keys in.
