Paul,

no questions are stupid but some peoples anwsers are.

anyway a cat-back system is a Free Flow exhaust system that replaces your original Volvo system it is a bolt on Kit and will give maybe 5-8 HP extra. It will allow the turbo to spool up quicker and should give better throttle response.

it is one of the first things to do get more performance out of your car.

IPD sells them for about 695.00 and i found one used for about 250.00

go to www.ipdusa.com and look at the exhaust systems for the 850 you will see it there.
