Dear Dave:
My AC noise also appears on a fast acceleration or when driving over 60 MPH. The noise is a buzzing or resonating and only starts when the compressor in engages and while the car is in motion (at highway speeds). I can idle the car in park at 3,000 rpm and compressor will churn away with out a noise. However, if I am driving down the highway an the compressor engages the buzzing noise starts right in and stops when the compressor disengages. The car is does not make a sound at highway speeds with the AC off. The sound appears to be coming from the drivers side near the relays. I have shook every piece of metal I can get my hands on to find a loose shield or cover, but I still can find the source.
I had the receiver/ dryer replaced recently and the car still has a full charge. The AC is also very cold (best AC in a car I ever had aside for the noise).
I will be watching the AC whisling thread closely because their AC noises starts when the car is a speed.
Thank you for responding
Robert
