Thanks for the information, sounds like a very similar problem. I saw listed in some of the online parts places " special volvo shims for rear brake pads" for "stoping vibration" were subject of service bulletin Went to local volvo dealer and the parts guy seemed to know about the problem and sold me a set of shims. Will try them along with new OEM pads before replacing rotors I too am too old but too cheap.
