What if I don't replace my airpump? 850 1997

The air pumps function is to force air into the exaust after COLD start to cause the cat converter to heat up faster and reduce emissions. It operates for up to 2 minutes depending on temperature. It has no effect on engine performance. Only affects emissions at cold start. It will give you a permanent check engine light, which is cause for smog test failure, even if tailpipe emissions are under state limits.
