Despite the fact that you are being immature and using derogatory remarks about my profession (I assume you are a...saint and your profession is perfect) below, I will answer for the sake of the "discussion"...
No, I would never use CR as either to promote or refute the reliability of any car as I think they are jokers. And you may be correct about the validity of JD Power...I did not post it to say "see??? I told you so...". I posted that message as a piece of information; you use it anyway you want to. You want to take it to the bank? Do it! You want to trash it? Do it! I could not care less. It will not have an impact in my life (whether positive or negative)...
Yes, it is a fact that Lexus is the "perfect" car...did I ever mention that Volvos are more reliable than Lexus? For years, here, I have been posting about Lexus, how great they are (well, their models are kind of boring but high class, nonetheless) and how every dealer (Volvo or not) should strive to give the excellent service that a Lexus dealer provides.
But the fact is, whether you or anyone else here like it or not, the newer Volvos (2001 and newer) are reversing the negative trend that has been established because of 1998 and 1999 models...They are extremely reliable and we will see how long it will take for the toastmaker experts to pick up on that.
