I own a '98 V70AWD. I also own a '99 Subaru SUS AWD, Limited Edition. Both of these cars have been driven through New England winters since newly purchased by me. The Volvo is FUN to drive. It is plows up snowy hills like a tank. They have both had their service "issues".

The Volvo is great and I would buy it again. It is not infallible, but neither is the Subaru. I have been through all of the common Volvo problems, including a leaking front transfer case that houses the infamous bevel gear. I still would buy the car again. That says something in itself...
