Your 1.6L engine is developing max torque at 4000 RPM, and this is why you are realizing the good performance of the engine between 2500-4000 RPM. This is the reason one uses the tachometer to drive one's vehicle in order to obtain the performance that was engineered into it.

The 1.6L engine develops max HP at 5800 RPM.
