Hi.

Yes, it is confirmed that for MY2003, any model currently using the 2.4T engine will have the 2.5T variant. Same for all AWD models with the exception of the upcoming S60 R and V70 R (eventhough rumor has it that the current 2.3L will increase its displacement to 2.4L or even 2.5L).

The new 2.5T engine will actually be a fairly extensive redesign model of the current variant; it will also generate 208 bhp (154 kW for our European friends) at 5,000 rpm and its torque will be rated at 236 lbs-ft. from 1,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm.

The 2003 XC70 will also have Haldex so you should be in good shape!
