Old info

Considering the age of that info ('96 as Dick mentioned), it's outdated, vague and really not anything that'd even come close to helping me draw any solid conclusions.
I use Amsoil Series 2000 (way newer than anything in '96) but I have yet to see any independant, unbiased research comparing that oil to other brands of synthetics and I'm only interested in pure synthetics, not a mixture.

To this day I'm still wrestling with the idea whether or not my engines truely benifit from Amsoil vs the far less expensive and easily found Mobil 1 which is now always on sale at Walmart. I know that the Amsoil is great stuff but its cost bothers me when I think about it, even though I leave it in longer than I did with petroleum based oils but I'm too chicken to go the distance on it that Amsoil claims, 7,500 is my max interval so far and that bothers me. I did save a sample so one of these days I'll send it in for lab testing.
