My wife had the same starting problem with our 2000 S70 GLT SE. Among the various problems pointed out in this and other forums, it could simply be that you have both the service key and master key on the same key chain and that the car is getting confused and the immobilization feature is kicking in (page 44 of the manual).
While researching this, I found another gem which may also fix the problem. There is a way to reset the Service Light using the odometer reset button and an ignition key sequence(99 and newer models). Press the odometer button with the key in the off (O) position. Turn the key to the II position and wait for the Service Light to Flash. After it starts flashing, let go of the odometer switch and then turn the key to the OFF position.
This must reset something in the computer because my S70 which did not start all morning, instantly started after I finished this process. An added benefit is that you can now change your own oil.
