kev,
I am assuming you have replaced the battery.....the lamda lamp (check engine lamp in other markets) is triggered by a fault code that was probably set when the battery went dead. Anything associated with emmisions that are at fault will trigger the lamp. Unfortunatley for you, '96 models cannot re-set the ECM by the owner as in earlier models. You have to go to the dealer and have the code/codes read and deleated before the lamp will go off...
