Early S80's and S40's have had their share of problems, but from what I've read/seen in Car and Driver, Road and Track, Consumer's Reports, the new S60, venerable S70/V70 (excluding AWD), new V70, are all on the recommended list.

If you are leaving Volvo because of reliability concerns, I wouldn't head towards Saab. If that's what you care about, you have to look Toyota and Honda.
