PT problem S40-V40 2000

Has anyone had issues with engine oil leaks? Apparently my crank seal has failed and was causing engine oil to slowly leak.

Also, has anyone had their engine speed sensor and exhaust check valve replaced?

What did the dealership say the cause of the problem was? I have about 27k miles on my 2000 V40 and I'm thinking anything powertrain related is pretty significant. Please let me know.
