Nat- I have falkens zies502 and won't buy again cause they give me thrills in wet weather! I hear good thing about Khumos, but never had; may get next. I would recommend Dunlops or Continential or Mich. these may be pricey, but i've noticed they come on Bmws, acuras and Benzs. these manufact. mix performance w/ quiet and they last 20-30k miles. I've had 16" mich(mxv4) & dunlop(sp8000) and they were great.
Now, I believe u can get 215/45/17s w/o any problems for 2 reasons: 1) you have the correct OFFSET(few aft. mkt. rims are the right ET) and 2) you rim is 7x17. I have 215/45 and the only reason I rub slightly(on bad roads) is I have 17x8 w/ 35 ET. I have no choice but to get 205/45 next tire change. good luck, BD
