Probably a 't' valve connector. I had same problem - twice, once with the headlights and once with the windshield. A replacement from volvo dealer was about $10 and from IPD about $5 or 6.
The headlight valve is located more by feel then sight. Open the hood and near the passenger headlight running on inside of bumper is the hose running to the driver's headlight. Feel along this (to your left) and you should find the valve. There is just enought play in the hoses to manipulate the old one off and put on the new.
