How do? We purchased a 01 V70, low pressure turbo, auto, with heated seats, auto, std. radio am/fm cassette. I also got the 16 tires and rims, run at 32# psi. Only thing I would change is the radio, to one that would have the c/d in the dash. Everything electrical goes thru the central computer, so it is hard to add an aftermarket cd player to the car.
Car is quiet, and very responsive. Tracks well in both rain and snow. (Live in Cinci, where there are some hills, and a good share of pot holes. Brakes are excellant. Much better than in my 91 940. Mixed city and x-way is running about 23-24 mpg. I have less than 10K on the clock as we took delivery some 5 months ago. This is our 3rd. Volvo, all wagons, and I would rate this as the best of the 3. WE have the auto climate control, and it is ok. I have over ridden it on the longer trips, as I want more air on my face than it sometimes provides. The only additions I made to the car, was to purchase a rear cover for the trunk area, so it is not open, and the Volvo mud flaps for the wheels. My thinking was that with the wider tires, and the tuck under of the body, the flaps would help to reduce the amount of mud and stone blasting to the lower body there. So far so good.
Grumbles, well I would prefer a bit less body sway in corners. Not a harsher ride, just somewhat less lean. This can be controlled by stiffer anti-sway bars I thnk. I would also like an oil temp. gauge and a turbo boost gauge. All in all, the gripes are minor and I would rate the new V70 as a winner.
