CHECKING PCV 2002 V70 2.3L V70-XC70

Yes, the glove test works. But do it with a slightly warmed up engine, when the idle is below 1000rpm. Not a really hot engine as the oil filler neck gets too hot and melts the glove.

If the glove gives you a high 5, the PCV system needs to be replaced. This includes the PTC on the air intake to the turbo models.

This involves removing the intake manifold and possibly the radiator fan shroud. There are many write ups and a couple of you tubes.

It's also possible that a few vacuum lines have outlived their usefulness after 20 years.
