Someone suggested to unbolt the door hinges to pull it away from the car enough to pop the pins. Better have a 1 gallon bucket to rest the door on - it is quite heavy. And how to get the electrical connector and door stay disconnected was not discussed.
The 4 pins that hold the inside panel to the door frame are plastic. All you need to do is push the center pins in to loosen the fastener.
It would be nice to find a Pick&Pull and get a rear door, with a working latch. Then you wouldn't care about ruining the panel on your car. Plus, you would get another latch motor to work on.
To remove the whole door, Volvo design has an E torx screw in the hinge(2), which when loosened will allow you to just lift the door off the car (after removing the T40 from the door stay and the electrical connector.
A 1 gallon bucket works great to prop the door close to the car. Do not rest the good door on concrete, it will scratch the door frame!
