Now is the time to check for recalls. If your car was made late in the model year and is using oil, get the compression tested (2017 models had defective piston rings).
Make sure your car has the new and improved coolant line from the overflow/fill bottle.
Check the battery drive range, there is a law suit regarding the range the battery can power the car.
Use the "B" position when in hilly areas, it helps to regenerate the battery when your foot is off the gas pedal.

Be glad you didn't get the 2017 XC90!
