Just replace the rear shocks. 100000 on the vehicle. Dealer had replaced struts and said rear shocks were leaking. Saw no sign of leak, plus after pulling shocks I was unable to compress piston. Removed units were Sachs self leveling Nivomat shocks P/N 30683451. My question; post installation I noted that the boot on the left shock is turned a bit. The right side looks straight and good. Can I expect the boot to self correct it self after some road action of the shock or am I looking at rework on that left side to straighten the boot? I used an air gun to install the top lock nuts and did not hold the piston shaft. Probably this is why the boot rotated a bit. Thoughts or reports of past experience regarding this condition is appreciated.
