'00 S40 141k--shuts off as soon as she reaches operating temp S40-V40 2000

To me, I'd think that an immediate shut down would point toward an electrical issue.

A loss of fuel pressure would also die after a few seconds, but I think it would kind of "chug" to a stop and not be as sudden. It sounds like you are losing spark to me, but could be wrong.
Can you hear the fuel pump cycle if you turn the key back and forth after it dies?

I'm wondering if it may be a MAF sensor or throttle position sensor related issue.
