Failed emission test V70-XC70 1998

Never had an issue passing emission test, until now. Went in with no OBD error codes.Technician said the car threw P0133 while he was testing the car. Report shows low and high RPM NOX numbers twice the allowable limits. I looked up P0133 code, bad bank one O2 sensor. Could faulty O2 sensor cause such high NOX numbers? I checked the hoses and exhaust for leaks and found none. Car runs great otherwise, and has lots of pep.
