how can I remove hu-650 radio from my 2006 v70? V70-XC70

I haven't found an exact tutorial so I started with some hints. I pried up the shifter trim so that it is loose. I did not totally remove it yet. This allowed me to remove the 2 T25 screws which than allow me to pull outward the entire assembly of radio and climate control but not fully. I am not sure what is next. Am I supposed to be able to just slide out the radio or do I really need to get the whole center assembly out? There are lots of clips I can see - maybe some will just release the radio?

Also, regarding the shifter trim. Am I supposed to completely get it out of the way by perhaps removing the shifter knob first? Thanks. Maybe this is super-easy if I just knew how?

Also - I disconnected the negative battery terminal. Do I need to worry about radio codes?

My goal is to install an aux input.

One more question: is there a faq for this car? Maybe I missed it?
