I have no long term experience with adjusting the compressor clutch. In fact, my mechanic was dubious about it until it worked. I used six zip ties. No glue.
Do I need glue?
Anyway. Mechanic said it can only be a temporary fix. Insists that the real culprit is the electromagnet weakness (in the clutch) and it's just a matter of time.
I didn't see anywhere this jury-rig 'fix' had a half-life, or could only last one year. In the meantime, I'm keeping a close eye on the zip ties and make sure they stay put.
Is it hot enough on the compressor clutch to melt those things and mess up the gap?
There was a guy on MVS that saying his bread clps have worked since 2008.
