Check engine light 850 1995

I was out driving around looking at Xmas lights tonight. As Iwas going down a steep hill I shifted my automatic into low gear. Then the shift arrow started flashing and the check engine light came on and stayed flashing even after I shifted back into drive. When I got home I checked the codes but could not find any. After checking the codes The flashing arrow went away but I still have a check engine light. Anybody know why or how to get rid of it?
