It is best to remove the seat. Remove all 4 bolts, then disconnect the battery, then unplug the seat wires before removing the seat from the car.
If the bottom skin is is held together with metal hog clips, cut them and use plastic zip ties on re-assembly.
If there is a salvage yard close to you, ask them if they have any bottom seat skins. They have to be cheaper than the dealer.
Take your time removing the skin and don't 'force' anything. Putting the skin back on should only take 30 minutes.
