Hi Skip.
My V70 has lived with the P0333 for a long time. Quite often it is from a leak in the evaporative fuel system as you suggested. However, The leak frequently happens at a rubber hose fitting (elbow)at the Charcoal filter. Very difficult to access. Search for that subject in the Forum. I need to fix mine too.
