I had once a light of the trip computer out. I then opened the cover of the dashboard under the steering wheel. Tried to locate the trip computer and came to the conclusion that the complete dashboard had to be removed.
I tought that the other light's from the gauges were then reachable. But you 'll need small hands to remove them. Also have a flashlight in reach. It's fare easier to locate the bulbs then.
If you're going for the big job -> dash apart, here working instructions:
Take care with the Airbag, be sure you've disconnected the battery.
Also, if you've a radio with a code -> look for the number.
- Disconnect battery.
- Open glove compartment and remove the arms of the cover (with screwdriver
pushing between arm and cover)
- Remove the six bolts (Torx 25 bolts) in the glove compartment.
- Disconnect Airbag passenger. Warning battery MUST be disconnected.
- Remove 4 bolts (Torx 10 bolts) from airbag (they are at the topside in
glove compartement).
- Remove cover and the 2 bolts (Torx 25 bolts) from airholes at left and
right sides.
- Remove airholecovers from left side-defroster (top one) and from central
dashboard.
- Remove dashboard speakers.
- Remove the Torx 25-bolt that's located in right side speaker hole.
- Remove the dashboardcover bolts ( 9 pieces, Torx 25), one at each
side, one in topleft airholecover, two above and behind steering wheel,
two in central airholes and two in glovebox)
- Pull the cover to the back to loose it from the central airholes.
Be sure you're carefully.
- Disconnect both the connectors from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect, if it's a Turbo, the Pressure gauge.
- Make both the connections at the top side loose, and pull panel a little
up. If you've got a trip computer, you can see it's connection and you
can remove it then.
- Remove instrument panel. Don't touch the print with your hands.
- Building it back together is instructions backwards.
- Check that you connect every wire good. Check also the condition of the
connectors.
- You can hear a clicking sound if the connectors are connected good.
- Check the instrument panel when work is done.
Tip!!
Replace all the light bulbs, otherwise maybe you'll have to do it all over again next week!
Great I 've been of any assistance to you.
