Volvo 850: 1995 vs. 1996 850 1995 T-5R

Is it true that the 1996 850 is much better and more reliable than the 1995? That's what all my friends have been telling me and that's what Consumer Reports seems to say. I figured I'd ask you guys to confirm it's truth. Thanks
