Part missing between transmission housing and frame? V70-XC70 2007

Just finished replacing the left sway bar link, which was apparently the source of some rattling on my wife's '07 V70 (automatic, 190K miles). While I had the wheel off, I noticed that there was a narrow (1/2") gap between the transmission housing and the frame, almost as if a rubber bushing was missing there (?). I wish I had taken a picture to explain this better, but there are two 'lips' on the frame that I would have expected something to clip into or hang from. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
