2004 Gas tank Venting problem V70-XC70

I have a 2004 V70 with 160K. I only fill the tank until the nozzel clicks off.
This morning with only a 1/4 tnk of fuel, it overflowed after pumping only
a little over a gallon. Even very slow filling kept shutting the nozzel off. I quit after 2 gallons. I have never experienced this problem before.
I have read some of the older posts and wounder where to start on this issue.
