Did it work Chris ? S80 2005

No! Or should I say, !@#$ NO!

Believe it or not, it seemed to work temporarily, but then came back. It's one of those things where I might not have paid close attention in previous months or years, so it could have been doing this on and off.

To be honest, I am befuddled by this problem. The car smells like gas in front of the rear wheel, but it might not be in front of the rear wheel, as much as it is "behind the front wheel", because it smells there too. And to further confuse matters, the smell goes away at some point during the depletion of the tank. There is a possibility that the o-rings have just plain dried out. The car sits almost 100% of the time in low (like 6%) humidity, and while it is stored indoors (which is good), the summer heat and low humidity in Phoenix can eventually cause problems that aren't seen elsewhere (which is bad).

Anyway, I'm going to check into it when I get back to Wisconsin where I spend most of the summer, and where I left the car. For what it's worth, in May, at the last minute, I checked the tire pressure, pulled the dipstick, then immediately drove 1800 miles over 3 days. Nothing leaked, nothing broke, nothing malfunctioned. It's waiting for me to get back and dig into a 4 wheel brake job, timing belt/pump, and 100 other little items, but other than the routine maintenance and this one oddball problem, the car is perfect, having been driven in snow twice, and rain MAYBE 10 times since I've owned it.

You would think (or at least *I* would think) that if there is a fuel smell, there is fuel. Like a smoke-fire analogy. So I'm expecting to find this at some point, and when I do, I will update this thread.
