I had the same problem with my 855. If you haven't fixed this already, try adjusting the steering wheel as far down as possible. Put your hand, (palm up) inside the opening above the steering wheel and feel around, you should find a strip that you can push up to make that metallic clang. If this is the same problem, I had the dealer fix this because the car was under warranty. They glued it or something like that, it broke, went back, broke again... 3rd time they finally fixed it right! From what I understand, they had to take out my instrument panel (speed/tach console) ..not the whole dashboard. Hope this helps!
