Lately, after changing to new tyres, a nasty shudder appeared in my vehicle. The steering wheel, dash, body all would shake. Passengers could distinctly feel it, like turbulence running from back to front of the vehicle. It only occured after 20kph and would not be felt past 60 kph. It triggered a new code, the vehicle speed sensor, and it roughly coincided with the trans light flashing and winter mode. During the shudder period this code was always coming on to be erased.
I checked propellor shaft, tyres and balance, cv joints, ABS area and brakes. Had done the ABS module previous and did resolder the brake position sensor. Replaced 5 litres trans fluid.
Then something wonderful: Five days ago, I towed a trailer with a 500kg load. A little heavy with lots of hills and starts. Directly after the first tow I noticed the shudder that I had had for one month, had gone.
Is it possible something got torqued back into place, pulled or pushed tighly? I wonder what the piece or part was that caused shudder?
It is not completely solved. There is driver side suspension knocking and rattling which seems a direct after effect of the shudder.
The code for vehicle speed sensor has appeared once, during a small rain shower.
Bloomin heck.
