'98 V70 Still has Trouble Shifting Out of First V70-XC70

Hi Klaus,

Yes, the tranny shifts into 3rd and 4th normally. Sometimes it shifts from first to second OK, but only for an instant, then it seems like it can't stay in second, and it goes back to first and over-revs.

It's been over a month since I flushed the tranny fluid, so I would guess that it's not going to improve much more.

Interesting that you mention the pressure, I was thinking about that too. Maybe there is a pressure drop in an older tranny, from a worn pump or leaky seals, and that is doing it? Not sure.

Maybe time to find a good tranny shop,
