Re: Recurring fault code 850 1994

I hope the anwer to that code was as simple as mine.

Check the vacuum hoses for leaks. There are several bent small vacuum lines that run around and underneath that black plastic cowling(looking at the engine-between you and the distributor).

One of the small curved rubber hoses(some slip onto nylon lines, others don't) had a hole in it on the inner curve(hard to see so pull

them off) I got a replacement and has worked perfectly ever since. The line with the hole on it was all rubber and curved(maybe 2 to 3 inches long) and did not attach to a nylon line, but check them all.

Take that one small torx bolt off(holding that plastic cowling) and pull and check those small hoses. Both of my 94 wagons had a leak in the same small curved rubber hose.

I have used the IPD rotors and pads and am very happy with them.

Good Luck.
