I am 740/940 Turbo wagon kindof guy for the last 15 years or so, with well over a million miles in them, but sort of have a hankering for an 03 C70 ragtop available locally. I have been searching through the threads I can find and the yes it has the classic symptoms, front end shimmy and screwed up tonneau cover alignments. soooooo, I know the general consensus is no, I don’t want it.

But is there a thread somewhere I have missed on mods to eliminate the Rube Goldberg tonneau cover pieces, and just have the top laying over open to the elements like a real rag top?

And maybe eliminate the heavy back glass altogether and replace it with some clear plastic material, something lighter and more flexible cemented in with liquid rubber more like like a real rag top?

Would there be other top issues if I could eliminate these two things?
