If you have a multimeter, check the engine coolant temp sensor for proper resistance. If the engine starts nicely and then balks after warm up, it could be the ECT sensor.

Resistance is linear:

68F = 2800 Ohms
104F = 1200 Ohms
212F = 150 Ohms

Note, do not uplug/plugin when engine is running - it will cause another error.
