Acceleration Signal Sensor 850 1997

Hi Everyone.

Well had my relatively new 850 running pretty good, when my daughter slid on some snow and drove off the road into a flat but rough berm. Took out the DS rear quarter panel thanks to a fire hydrant, roughed up the front by trashing the belly pan and some of the black lower grille inserts. No one, thankfully, hurt, no others involved. So a cash transaction will fix the car without the insurance involved. Car seems fine on the road, nothing obviously bent, but will have it on a rack soon.

A result of this is the check engine light is on and the code is a P1308 or acceleration sensor signal DTC. I'm thinking, but not sure, based on an eBay photo that this is the sensor attached to the front of the crossmember more toward the passenger side. I found it disconnected, but reconnected and turned code off. Don't know if it will come back on yet. Can't find any info on what this does. Anyone know?

I'll probably fix the car as I paid 2400, but threw another 400 or so at it, either way I'm spending more money....

Thanks in advance.

Mike
