90 = SUV. XC = AWD. V = fwd wagon. S = sedan.
The XC70 and V70 are pretty much the same, except the XC has AWD, rides a little higher, and has that ugly black plastic molding in the front and back.
You are correct, the wagons take longer to heat up the cabin because of the volume. A luggage cover in the rear helps a lot. BUT, seat heaters make a huge difference in comfort. Electronic climate control (set your temp and forget about it) is the best in the industry - it delivers heat as soon as the engine starts to warm up. When cold, the ECC leaves the blower off until the engine warms up.
Beware of the 2001 Volvos, you don't want one! Period.
