Other than spending big bucks for a larger turbo, larger exhaust, and a very expensive chip from IPD, I would investigate new turbo to intercooler piping. The hard plastic type that reverses the IC flow and cuts about 18 inches out of the flow will help increase throttle response.

IPD also has a new heavy duty boost controller for less than $50, which includes 3 new vacuum lines. Quite nice. Yours should be very dirty with the mileage you have.
