MAP sensor S60

You're right about the location KlausC.

I think it's a bit misleading to call this a MAP sensor (though everyone including the parts dealers do anyway).

MAP usually stands for Manifold Air Pressure, but this sensor is clearly measuring ambient air pressure and NOT air pressure in the intake manifold.

Fuel injection systems typically either measure manifold air pressure OR incoming air mass to determine the fuel mixture (in open loop operation - closed loop relies on O2 sensor). Our cars have an Air Mass Meter (sometimes called AMM or MAF for Mass Air Flow) and not a true MAP.

The ambient air pressure sensor we often see referred to as a MAP is measuring the current air pressure to make adjustments for altitude. Ambient air pressure can be quite different depending on your altitude and you can adjust the mix pretty substantially for sea level driving or mountain driving.
